JOSEPH MARKUNAS JOINS FIRM AS NEW PARTNER AND HEALTHCARE AND LIFE SCIENCES FINANCIAL EXPERT
I am pleased and excited to announce that Joseph Markunas has joined CFOs2GO as a partner and will establish and co-lead a combined Healthcare and Life Sciences financial practice. Joe brings unique skills to the firm; he’s established, grown and sold a successful consultancy, co-founded a medical device company and was a financial consultant and CFO for medical and dental practitioners and groups. Joe is also a licensed CPA.
His skills will allow us to uniquely focus on the financial needs of the healthcare and life science businesses. This will be CFOs2GO’s initial industry focused practice and we see great opportunities for a proven consulting CFO and recruiter to customize solutions for clients in this dynamic marketplace whether in consulting, interim staffing or direct hire search or placement.
Joe will be joined by CFOs2GO veteran Jodi Avina as co-leader of the Healthcare and Life Sciences practice. As a former nurse, Jodi has unique expertise and experience recruiting and staffing for health services companies as well life science companies. Both Jodi and Joe have deep and broad experience so will make a great team and be a resource for all clients, even those in other industries.
Joe’s background includes accounting, tax and consulting engagements with both large and small medical and dental provider groups in both private fee for service as well as managed care and Medicaid capitation reimbursement models. Joe’s life science consulting clients include organizations in radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution as well as organizations that license and commercialize technologies from colleges and university researchers in the US and Canada. Additionally, Joe is cofounder and CEO of a medical device developer which has patented a number of unit dose and other devices. In this role Joe has gained extensive experience in protection of IP, FDA Premarket 510K Submissions and response to reviewer comments, international business development, marketing and distribution, supply chain management, pricing, branding and trademarking.
