"Leading Companies to Their Next Stage"

Gordon’s experience spans all facets of business, from manufacturing to sales, to corporate affairs. He works with companies from pure start-ups to major multinationals. His international executive assignments deepen his appreciation for diverse cultures and business philosophies. He applies his proven leadership in promoting rapid growth, directing mergers, acquisitions, and consolidations, and streamlining operations to steer companies to the next stage of their success.

Driving Growth, While Protecting Bottom Line:

He knows the value of focused efforts to drive growth, while keeping an eye on the bottom line. In several stops in his career, he has significantly reduced operating expenses and achieved profit breakeven by increasing operating efficiencies and lowering costs by shortening the supply chain, upgrading suppliers, and outsourcing non-core functions.

Mergers, Acquisitions & Capital Raising:

Emerging firms are constantly searching for funding and planning for their exits. Recently, Gordon successfully led the sale of a 150+ year old family-owned business to a multi-billion dollar industry leader. He has also raised over $40 million through equity, debt and convertible instruments for both private and public companies. Challenges can often occur when companies need to restore their banking relationships. Gordon has helped several companies restructure their credit facilities.

Strategy Development and Implementation:

There is a saying that if you don’t know where you are going, any path will take you there.  Plans and strategies are essential for emerging growth companies.   With an eye on the challenges in product development and rollout as well as regulatory, reimbursement and regional considerations, we can develop operating plans and strategies.

After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, Gordon started his career as an Industrial Engineer in the food industry, working for companies such as Armour Meat Company and Safeway ‘s Supply Division.  With his MBA (also from Berkeley), he moved into corporate finance, while keeping his operational focus.   When working for Dole Packaged Foods, Gordon embarked on his international career that has continued to this day.   He was the Finance Director for Dole in Thailand before moving on to Worldwide Director of Manufacturing Services.  That soon lead to four years in Europe and the move to Medical Technology with Nellcor Puritan-Bennett.

With two degrees from the University of California Berkeley, Gordon bleeds Cal Blue and Gold. You will find him at Memorial Stadium on fall Saturdays cheering for his Bears. When not working, or cheering for his Bears, you will often find Gordon with his wife and dog hiking the East Bay hills.
